Fourth of July Neighborhood Parade in Castlewood Ranch

Riding in the Parade

4th of July Parade site- the Police and Firefighters were there to add to the festive atmosphere.

Waving the Stars and Stripes

James and Ansley got to sit in a Castle Rock police car and the nice officer let them turn on the siren!

They enjoyed plaing with the controls.

The kids almost won the 3 legged race!

James' First Go-Cart Race

Watch in HD quality at youtube.com

Here's James driving a go-cart for the first time. We're not sure how much was skill and how much was having a fast car, but he passed other drivers very skillfully and ended up winning the race. Near the end you can hear his sister calling out "Hi James, you're the best!"

Fire

The kids and I were sitting at the dinner table, and I was re-telling a Sherlock Holmes story to them. I told how clever Holmes was in faking a fire to see where a lady had hidden a precious photograph that he needed to find.
I explained that whenever there is a fire emergency, a person will grab whatever is most important to them.
"What would I get?" I asked James.
   He replied, "Me and Ansley."
"You are right! You are the most precious to me. What would you get?
James answered, "I would get my tadpoles."
I asked Ansley, "And what would you get?" I imagined she'd say her dolls, dress up clothes, etc.
She looked at me completely seriously and said, "Mom, I would get the hose."

My mom says that everyone should have an Ansley in their family!
