Playing With Cousins
Here's James driving a go-cart for the first time. We're not sure how much was skill and how much was having a fast car, but he passed other drivers very skillfully and ended up winning the race. Near the end you can hear his sister calling out "Hi James, you're the best!"

We said goodbye to our pet tadpole (now a little bullfrog), then found some ants moving their larvae from one home to another. Pictures of the whole event at flickr.com

This was the first Rattlesnake I've seen in the wild. Exciting day.
Ignore my stupid attempts to give direction and enjoy James persevering all the way up this 40ft climbing wall at the Denver Bass Pro.
The kids and I were sitting at the dinner table, and I was re-telling a Sherlock Holmes story to them. I told how clever Holmes was in faking a fire to see where a lady had hidden a precious photograph that he needed to find.
I explained that whenever there is a fire emergency, a person will grab whatever is most important to them.
"What would I get?" I asked James.
He replied, "Me and Ansley."
"You are right! You are the most precious to me. What would you get?
James answered, "I would get my tadpoles."
I asked Ansley, "And what would you get?" I imagined she'd say her dolls, dress up clothes, etc.
She looked at me completely seriously and said, "Mom, I would get the hose."
My mom says that everyone should have an Ansley in their family!
