James Climbing 40ft at Bass Pro

HD version available at youtube.com and vimeo.com

Ignore my stupid attempts to give direction and enjoy James persevering all the way up this 40ft climbing wall at the Denver Bass Pro.

Fire

The kids and I were sitting at the dinner table, and I was re-telling a Sherlock Holmes story to them. I told how clever Holmes was in faking a fire to see where a lady had hidden a precious photograph that he needed to find.
I explained that whenever there is a fire emergency, a person will grab whatever is most important to them.
"What would I get?" I asked James.
   He replied, "Me and Ansley."
"You are right! You are the most precious to me. What would you get?
James answered, "I would get my tadpoles."
I asked Ansley, "And what would you get?" I imagined she'd say her dolls, dress up clothes, etc.
She looked at me completely seriously and said, "Mom, I would get the hose."

My mom says that everyone should have an Ansley in their family!

Violin Recital May 2009

High-Def version available at vimeo.com

I'm so proud of James. He tried to teach me how to play Laurel's violin tonight and the attempt gave me a new appreciation for his abilities. It's hard!
